SciFi and Fantasy Art Beach Ride by Iseult Murphy

Two sisters, silver haired Luna and flaming haired Solar, race together upon the beach. Luna rides her eclipse stallion, whose coat patterns are the shapes of the moon. Her young wolf runs along beside her, his responsiblity is to eat the full moon every month.

Solar rides her dawning stallion, whose job it is to paint the colours of the sun rise and the sunset each day. On her shoulder rides her pet dragon, whose fiery breath keeps the furnaces of the sun lit and it's corona blazing hot.

My fourth or so attempt at this picture (horses galloping along the strand), the idea behind it built up gradually. I am still not 100% happy with it :-S

18 Nov 2004	Anonymous	Loading... Wonderful. The horses are GORGEOUS! The wolf could be a little more... I dunno... fluffy, prehaps? I see your point about the people- not quite there, but hey, I can't talk- I can't draw people worth a flip. Anyway, I don't mean to sound too critical! I love this picture, just had a few tips. ; )Oh, and another thing: I loved the ocean. You really captured it. Iseult Murphy replies: "Yes, the wolf could be fluffier. I like your use of a piebald horse, you don't see them popping up in too much fantasy art. Keep up the good work! I love this picture and what it represents, however...I do ride horses and how the girls are sitting...well, if they were really going at a gallop they'd have fallen off by now...you might want to consider revising their positions. It's hard to explain, so the best advice I have for you is to take a look at some pictures of real riders and really pay attention to foot positions and posture... Aside from all that, it is really beautiful and I hope your revision is even better! Iseult Murphy replies: "Yes, it is true there are a lot of anatomical faults in my riders (for instance they are lacking rear ends as one commenter kindly pointed out) but I would like to point out that these riders are riding without saddles or bridles and they are cantering, so they are sitting up straighter rather than taking the forward seat. 22 Jul 2005	Hada Szabo	Loading... Hey this is excellent. I love your use of colours and the tones and shades you managed to achieve. The rider in green seems to sit a tad uncomfortably..methinks but other than that I love the horses and their movement and of course the riders. Well anywho i really love this and keep up the art...O___o Iseult Murphy replies: "Yeah, the rider in green does sort of perch on the horse, she needs some adjustment.
