This is another character from my book The Bobbit. Her name is Anna and she is the elder sister of Isecelia. She is also a epah and able to change into a wolf. She is sitting on the throne of her father - king of the epahs - and the wolf represents her in her other form. Drawn with coloured pencils and gold pen on A3 paper.

I like the ambiance of this picture: you wonder what she is thinking about. She looks both serene and dangerous

1 Iseult Murphy replies: "That is exactly the impression I was trying to create, it's great that it came across. She is alot stronger than her younger sister Isecelia (in my other picture) which is just as well as she ends up having to lead her people and she needs to be calm yet strong for that. Thanks for the comment"

Nice picture!I like her thin figure, her hand is very well drawn, too and the animal at her feet is realistic.

1 Iseult Murphy replies: "Hands can be quite hard to draw but I guess her right hand turned out ok. Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment "

The anatomy is very well done in this picture, but the colors are all so pale. You have more than enough lights, but you never get any darker than a few midtones. The hair especially could benefit from some shading so that it doesn't fade into the background quite so well. Overall, I like it, but if it were mine I'd have the urge to shade like a maniac.

2 Iseult Murphy replies: "Yes, the colour is very light. I have tried to change this in my other pictures, but I have a lot of work to do with bringing light sources into my pictures and shadow. I tend to colour everything with even light, which doesn't help the realism or depth. This is my third or fourth attempt at this picture and i am happy enough with the pose etc but I am becoming increasingly more unhappy with the colour especially as (I hope) my work improves, so I might do it again. *imagines you shading like a maniac* heehee! "

Wow! Beautiful! The colouring is great! And the folds in her dress are really well done too! The wolf is CUTE! *Give it to me!* Only cc is that perhaps the lines in her face (mouth and cheek) could have been a bit less visible. She looks older and a bit more sketchy now... But this is just minor, the picture is AMAZING!

2 Iseult Murphy replies: "Thank you very much. I will bear in mind the lines around her mouth for future pics. Thanks for commenting"

Ah hah! This shall be my first comment! And this first comment shall be started by me saying, I LUV THIS! She's got really pretty long blonde hair, and I like how you made her dress purple, I simply luv the two colors when they're put together. And look at the wolf sitting there. Aw, he's cute! The pose is great in this pics, she looks relaxed and confident, almost like she's saying, "Ha! I can turn into a wolf, and YOU can't!!"

~Megs~

1 Iseult Murphy replies: "Hi Megs! Yes, Anna definetly thinks she is superior because she can turn into a wolf.1 I'm glad you like the pic and thanks for such a lovely comment."

Its a great character AND a great drawing, you should be proud. When I ever feel like drawing i can never think of what to draw!!!

1 Iseult Murphy replies: "Thank you very much Alexandra for your kind words and lovely comment. Good luck with thinking up things to draw!"

You have a lot of nice drawings here, Iseult, but I would like to see a bit more color. Use a softer pencil or fix it on a computer.

2 Iseult Murphy replies: "I am not entirely sure what you mean about the colour, but if you mean that they are a little faded, I agree. It is partly due to the scanner and partly due to the actual colouring. My newer pictures I tweak the contrast on the pc to make it look more like the original. Thanks for the lovely comment."

:-) Iseult Murphy replies: "Thanks Stephanie. "
